Summer may look a little different in 2020, but we’re sure you will find fun, recreational activities and events to keep you busy in Pure Ludington! For those of you who have been patiently waiting, here’s what you have to look forward to this season on the lakeshore.
The lineup for June and July:
Live in the Plaza series - June 18 - Sept. 3
Open-air concerts at James Street Plaza are free to the public every Thursday beginning June 18. Bring a chair, grab takeout from a downtown restaurant, and enjoy a free live music from 5-8 p.m. The artists change each week, so check the Downtown Ludington page for details.
Ludington Farmers’ Market - now through Sept. 4
Find fresh, local produce every Friday in the heart of Downtown Ludington at James Street Plaza. This is a great opportunity to enjoy being outdoors and perusing goods from our Mason County farmers (3-7 p.m.). Come frequently, if not every week!
FNL Unplugged - June 19 - Sept. 4
New to Downtown Ludington this summer is a series of events designed especially for summer fun while physical distancing. The stage at James Street Plaza will feature musicians performing live every Friday evening from 6-9 p.m. These concerts are free to the public.
Sunset Beach Bonfires: June 25, July 23, August 27
Have a true “Up North” experience at three summertime events at Stearns Park Beach. The Sunset Beach Bonfires have live music, a crackling fire and gorgeous Lake Michigan sunset. Arrive early (7 p.m.) and you may even catch a glimpse of the S.S. Badger carferry returning to port!
Ludington Area Center for the Arts Concert Series - July 22 - Sept. 2
Beautiful Waterfront Park is the venue for a concert series sponsored by the Ludington Area Center for the Arts. Every Wednesday at 7 p.m., listeners will enjoy sitting in specially created “pods” for physical distancing at these outdoor events. LACA always has a great lineup of musicians, so be sure to check out its website for the schedule.
Ludington Offshore Classic/Big Boys Fishing Tournament - July 13-19
Ludington is touted as one of the best salmon fishing ports on the Great Lakes. Sign up for a chance to win cash prizes at this annual event at the Ludington port. For complete rules and registration information, head to ludingtontournament.com.
