Pure Ludington Craft Beer an Attraction on the Lakeshore

Visitors and locals will find some of the best Michigan beer around at two breweries in Downtown Ludington, complete with gorgeous taprooms and dining. You will want to put these stops on your itinerary for your next trip to this lakeshore town!

Jamesport Brewing Company

Jamesport Brewing Company, Ludington’s first to open its doors, is located at 410 S. James Street, and it has perfected its craft to be able to offer a dozen varieties on tap. This destination recently celebrated its 20th Anniversary serving patrons at this former hotel and saloon, which supplied Great Lakes sailors during the late-1800’s logging boom in Western Michigan.

JBC offers stouts, IPAs, Scottish ales, and many more craft beer styles. Seasonal favorites, like Octoberfest and Pumpkin Wheat, are back for fall. And don’t miss the amazing menu items, including steak, seafood, pasta, sandwiches and appetizers.

Ludington Bay Brewing Co.

Located at 515 S. James Street, Ludington Bay Brewing Co. is a must-see location in Ludington. It prides itself in offering 20-24 beers on tap, including seasonal ales and lagers to pair with its menu items.

From American Wheat and ESB to 9 WT. IPA and a Belgian Tripel, the large selection is second to none.

While you’re there, you’ll want to try their pizza & beer special (dill pickle and crab rangoon pizzas are on the menu!), or other favorites like adult mac & cheese and shrimp tacos. Friday nights are highlighted by live music in the taproom. You might also check out the newly enclosed patio area, complete with a fireplace, heaters and two flatscreen TVs!

Giving Back

Ludington breweries recently teamed up to offer “Beers for Peers,” with proceeds benefiting Lakeshore Food Club, which provides a grocery store for those with food needs in Mason County. These businesses care about the community, and programs like these keep customers coming back.

Donate coats and blankets at Ludington Bay on weekends through November and LBBC will give you a $5 coupon. All donations will be taken to Ludington Area School’s Youth Resource Center.

Cheers to autumn on the lakeshore and Ludington beer! Tag your social media photos with #PureLudington.
