Love Ludington Weekend

While the first official day of summer isn’t for a few more weeks, Ludington is celebrating it early as it declares June 9 & 10, Love Ludington Weekend, full of events and activities to get residents and visitors in the spirit of summer.

Love Ludington Weekend will feature favorite annual traditions like the Lakestride Half Marathon and incorporate newer traditions like attempting to break a Guinness World Record!

Saturday, June 8
8:00AM: Ludington Lakestride Half Marathon, 10K & 5K

The Ludington Lakestride is a 38-year tradition provides runners a beautiful running race near Lake Michigan, with options for a 5K, 10K and half marathon. Races begin at 8 a.m. starting at 612 N. Lakeshore Dr. (Nader’s Lakeshore Motor Lodge) and finishing at Stearns Beach on Lake Michigan.

9:30AM: Pure Ludington Guinness World Record Attempt

In 2016 Ludington broke the Guinness World Record for the Longest Ice Cream Sundae and in 2017 Ludington broke the record for the Most Sand Angels Created Simultaneously. This year, Ludington is looking to break the world record by hosting the Largest Dessert Party! Bring your appetite to Rotary Park for record breaking fun!

1-3PM: Historic Home Tours hosted by the Ludington Bed & Breakfast Association

Explore a bit of Ludington history by touring these historic homes, now bed and breakfasts. Here’s an opportunity to see the beautiful craftsmanship of the Lumber Era first hand. As part of the Love Ludington Weekend visitors can tour the homes that are now the Ludington House, the Lamplighter and the Candlelite Inn. No stay is required. Register to win a $100 gift certificate toward a future stay at one of the inns. Tour cost is $3 per adult. Kids accompanied by adult can enter without charge. Proceeds will benefit the Lakeshore Food Club. A canned food donation would also be appreciated but not required. Stop in at any of the B&Bs to begin your tour.
