Fall Color Driving Tours

Tour 1 - Hamlin Lake Area (Red Route)

Begin your tour by taking US-10 west through Ludington by unique shops and cozy restaurants. Then turn north on Lakeshore Drive through a canopy of color. At  Duneview Road go east to Lincoln Road and then south to Dewey Road. East on Dewey Road to Jebavy Drive and then north again to Barnhart Road. Circle back by way of Sherman Road and Shagway. Follow Jebavy south to US-10.

Tour 2 - Southern Mason County (Purple Route)

Head south on Pere Marquette Highway. Follow the highway to Iris Road, driving due west until it tees at Lakeshore Drive. Go north on Lakeshore Drive to White Pine Village, a museum that recreates a lumbering era community through exhibits and live interpreters. Skip down to the end of Buttersville Peninsula to enjoy crisp breezes off Lake Michigan. Turn back south again on Lakeshore Drive to the scenic overlook at the Ludington Pumped Storage plant, an impressive feat of engineering completed thirty years ago. As you continue south to Meisenheimer Road, you'll have view a variety of fruit trees and conifers along the Lake Michigan shoreline. Take Brye Road north to Hawley Road and then go east past frothy fields of golden asparagus. Back north on Scottville Road to Scotville.

Tour 3 - Northeastern Mason County (Orange Route)

East on US-10 to Custer. Take a left (north) onto Custer Road and then east on Sugar Grove through scenic farmland to Round Lake. North on Campbell and west on Millerton past open meadows with grazing horses against a backdrop of blazing woods. Jog north on Benson Road to quiet Ford Lake for more stunning  foliage with a blue-water backdrop. West on Fountain Road, north on Reek Road, a short jog east on Beyer to Poplar which winds around Gun Lake. Take Reek north to Freesoil Road and follow it west to US-31. South on 31 to Fountain Road, west on Stiles and south again to Conrad Road. Follow Conrad west to Pere Marquette Highway to complete your tour.
